The mother then goes into labour and gives birth. Once the child is born, the mother's breasts produce milk to feed the child.

In non-sexual organisms, "mother" can sometimes be used to mean "parent"; in the case of single-celled organisms that reproduce by fission, the mother is a cell that divides to produce "daughters".

Mothers typically have a very important role in raising children, and the title mother can be given to a woman other than a biological parent who fills this role. This is most commonly either an adoptive parent or a stepmother (the wife of a child's father). The term can also refer to a person with stereotypical traits of a mother.

Mothers are celebrated yearly, on Mother's Day, in many countries around the world. In many branches of Christianity, the Virgin Mary is also celebrated as the "Mother of God".

"Mum"/"mummy" (British English), "Mom"/"mommy" (American English), "maman" in French, "mama" and "ma" (from Italian Mamma) are some familiar or colloquial words for a mother. In many south Asian cultures, the mother is known as "Amma" or "Oma" or "Ammi" (with variations of "Ammi-ji" or "Ammi-jan"). Many times these terms denote affection or a maternal role in a child's life. In some societies, single motherhood, the state of an unmarried mother, has been treated as a serious social issue.

In Romania, mothers are placed below children in the average domestic social heirarchy.

Courtesy of Wikipedia.com

The earliest Mother's Day celebrations can be traced back to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, Mother of the Gods. During the 1600's, Enland celebrated a day called a day called "Mothering Sunday". Celebrated on the 4th Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter ), "Mothering Sunday" honored the mothers of England. During this time many of the England's poor worked as servants for the wealthy. As most jobs were located far from their homes, the servant would live at the houses of ther employers. On Mothering Sunday the servants owuld have the day off and were encouraged to return home and spend the day with their mothers. A special cake, called the mothering cake was often brought along to provide a festive touch.

Here we have briefly the meaning and the history of mother. Mother is a person who gives birth to babies; in this case, us. In Malaysia, as well as the US of A, Mother's' Day are celebrated on second Sunday on May. I call my mother at home, "mak" or "ma" and locally, mother are usually called as "ibu", "emak", "mama", "ma", "mummy" and etc. I call my Egyptian host mother "mama" and sadly I don't have a calling card to call her and wish her so. My ma just came home from a hot spring with our old neighbor and I ran down the stairs to hug her and wishes her. Personally I would say mother's day should be celebrated everyday because we sould show our love to our mothers everyday. Nine months of horror carrying us in their womb and raising us for year, plus bearing with our horrible attitude and crazyness yet they still loves us more than anyone else on earth.

My ma for example, truely wackiness of me and my sister and still be able to join the fun while having hard times bearing with my elder brother who usually is the crack in the pot. He just loves to bully me and my sister as he is seven years elder and since he was a school drop-out with lazy attitude and even makes my mum goes mad, my ma still loves him and always says "well after all, he is my first son". I'm very proud of her and willingly to be successful for her.

I have nothing else to say but to my ma and all the mothers on earth, a very Happy Mother's Day!" =)

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-05-14T09:39:55Z</dcterms:modified>

On Writting Blogs

Generally, it is about writting journal online but at the same time its like exposing personal information to the world. But to whom are we doing it to? Who are we actually exposing our secrets to? Well in a way it is not exposing anything but its a medium to express our self. Sometimes it can go way controversial like what happened not long ago in Tennessee about a young teenager who writes about his problems with his parents whom are against his sexual preference. Not that I remember much of the story but sometimes blogs can go way off limit. Usually people tend to write about what happen on their daily life, or even their past. It could be good or maybe some nightmare. For instance, past lives and experiences with Holocaust and world war and maybe personal nightmares such as sexual abuse to share with public.

Fictional? Maybe not. Blogs usually comes out as real life stories or again, expressions. Eventually, blogs can public attention and frequent readers. Great blogs such as Muse Monkey and Diary of a Mad Suburban Dad tells facinating experience and stories. I personally wish I could write as good as them as well like other bloggers. My main problem with blogs are I tend to be out of ideas on what should I write. I envy yet at the same time get very inspired with these stories and always tries to figure out how to write an interesting blog and attract more people to read it.

Writting blogs to me is like writting columns in newspaper but blogging are free and easy and also not getting paid like columnist. In reality, not all column in newspaper are interesting. My only favourite column is by Mary Schneider:But then again every Monday on The Star newspaper. Well, in addition, she is my ex-friend's mum to be exact and she writes handsomely beautiful. She left Scotland not long ago and tell stories from her past and her present.

To me, I don't have much to write although whenever I'm off from the computer, I keep talking to myself. Internal monologue; I tend to get ideas on what I suppose and should write on my blogs but my #1 is loosing all those crazy idea when I start signing in my msn space. I'm off now to daydream on what I should write and refresh my memories on my Egyptian experience.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-05-12T10:33:51Z</dcterms:modified>

I'm Back!!!

I'm back!!! Oh my god! After almost 3 months without internet access at home, I feel like almost retarded and lost from the net world! Well of course I occasionally goes to Internet Cafes but I never had enough of it. It cost more than at home. Well the reason why I don't have internet access at home is my family moved to a new house nearby my old house. Its just on the next road but however, since my mum owes almost MYR3000 to the telecom company (around USD900 I guess?) and now she has paid the debt after getting her EPF(Employee Provident Fund) money after a week turning 50. Well she only worked as a factory worker and quit almost 16 years ago but her EPF can only be withdraw when she turns 50 but only few part of it. She can only get more of it after turning 55. Well that is another story but for now, I feel so refresh after not writing for a while and will soon update story about my Egyptian experience. Later..

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2006-05-09T11:14:37Z</dcterms:modified>

Safely Arrived in Dubai International AIrport

People, thank you to the technology of Samsung, there are free internet access here!! wohoooo!! anyways it was the longest flight hour for me, about almost 7 hours!! Imagine leaving a house called home which will be evacuated since the landlord are chasing my family out with no mercy. However nothing will stop me from participating in this trip. Currently its another less than 36 hours for me to go. Although I might not get full access to internet, I will still blog, using a lovely journal I've bought recently specially to write stuff during this trip. These few days indeed has been emotional especially when I've hanged out with my best and closest friends; Aliyah and Zanne a.k.a.an indentical twin sister.

Like Muse Monkey and Gillian said I need to BLOG and I will update regularly. I will miss everything. Home, friends, family, BLOG, internet and much more..but like what everyone that left their wonderful comment, this would be a great lifetime oppurtunity and experience for me to look after. I don't want to be anymore dramatic so I just wanna wish all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance. TAKE CARE and love you people!

Much love,

Its situated next to Chowrasta Market and located on Penang Road. Believe me, I haven't stepped my foot on this place for a very very long time. The last was probably...8-10 years ago? Maybe I'm lying..or perhaps I've walked through this place but seriously I haven't been in the bazaar for a ver long time. So its down back to the memory lane.

The main reason I followed is to follow my mum to shop for my host family in Egypt. I have to get them something local..something Malaysian.. and so this place is full with it. It's sort of a paradise for those mak cik's or I shall says local aunties because this place is full with beautiful cloths and I'm not really sure what to call it. I know it's sort of cloths but nevermind.

Here, at this place, there are many sort of stuff available. Now I've learned why foreigners such as backpackers love this place. It's full with cheap and reasonable gifts and souvenirs. For example, those keychains and fridge magnets are available at cheaper price. In fact, most items here can be bargained at lower price. The lower you go, the better it would be. At the end of the day, much cash are saved especially for the backpackers.

I bought several silver key chains and two pennants for people I'm going to stay with. Later my mum brought me to an old shop that sells Batik, Sarongs and all those stuff. I've bought a Batik tablecloth and another two batik sarongs at a bargained price. The shopkeeper is a friendly man and my grandaunt is one of a patron/frequent customer to his shop. It's a short visit to this place with thousands of memories. Although nothing crushial or interesting happened, it brought me back to my old childhood time. Really, a bizzare experience.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-12-01T04:47:04Z</dcterms:modified>

Chronicles of the past week

I love to talk to myself because I'm the only one that actually listen to myself. It's fun but when it comes to writting, all my creativity gone with the wind. It's essential when all the iseas comes out together and the moment I'm starting to tpe something, everything fades away.

Days goes by and I totally forgot to update this space. Not to blame myself but I went to the city, Kuala Lumpur to shop for my stuffs. The odd thing I wouldn't buy in everyday life- luggage etc. KL is such a great place to live in. Like New York, there's shopping complex everywhere. Unlike Penang Island, Georgetown is more to business-like and commercial business district. The only fun mall to hang out is Gurney Plaza which now is more to be lame.

Nevertheless, I spent 4 days in KL, shopping like mad but unlike the other day, I only spent around 400 bucks on apparel but this time its 10 times more. I had to buy a new camera and a nea cellphone. Plus, a new luggage. Of course. I never had all these stuff and my precious cell phone is already ruined. I bought some new jeans- 3 pairs I think? And 2 polo's shirt from Giordanno. Hey, don't expect me to buy those high end stuffs. I had the most limited budget, around 2000 bucks which at the end actually going to be almost 4000 bucks. Damn I wish I had more cash. Still, I bought a new sunglasses from Focus Point and its United Colors of Benetton! I can't fight my very high temptation for these kind of stuffs.

Last few days was indeed very hectic and currently I still having mixed feelings. Its less than 10 days to go for my exchange programme now. I still haven't packed my bag and I feel lost.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-28T13:12:01Z</dcterms:modified>

One Phone Call and everything is now different..(part 2)

November 11, Friday

Indeed. This is the most difficult choice to make and unfortunately no changes are allowed. Flight ticket has been booked and host family are already waiting. I broke into tears. My mum came and hugged me to comfort me. I'm astonished and I can't imagine living 8 weeks without them both. 8 weeks without arguing with my sis. Since the agreement letter has arrived, I can't afford to cancel it because otherwise I need to pay 75% of the total. But wait. Why do I want to cancel? After all I've been waiting for this. And it's just that I'm not prepared for the whole thing. I MUST go. I applied for these earlier, went through the horrible interview where I mistakenly wore CASUAL and not FORMAL, replied the second form and now; I'M CONFIRMED FOR A PLACEMENT! These suppose to be great! I shouldn't be so negative. It's not so bad. Only for two months and after going to bed and waking up everyday, there I will be fine and won't get homesick.

I'm getting a headache and later I went to my bed and tried to forget everything for a moment and read the book again and soon I fell asleep.

I woke up at 7p.m. and still blurred with everything. I tried to stay calm and normal and after got dressed up; I went downstairs again to watch with my family. Too bad my sister can't use the computer since it was sent for service.

I sat there inf ront of the TV on the left side of the room on everyones favorite sofa. Basiclly this sofa gives good view to the TV. I stayed up until 11 and decided to sleep early. Unfortunately, I can't. I'm becoming like my mum and what she has said is true. She couldn't sleep the night before and now it's my turn. I can't seem to close my eyes and fly to dreamland anymore. It's already 1a.m. I turned on the TV and watch some show and I don't remember what. Probably about some dung beetle in Discovery Channel or some cartoon on Cartoon Network or some movie on HBO.

I was bored and left with emptiness so I decided to go through the papers again and see the detail about the medical coverage. Insurance covered $5000 to $1000500. Nice. If I die, all my parents' debt are settled and they could buy a house.
  However, I decided to create a list. Things like to do list. Here it goes;

if confirmed, after 15/11

- Buy clothes – for a month and half?

- Buy insurance

I waked up early today although slept late at 2a.m. earlier. It was quarter to 10 and I went to the living room to read newspaper. Mum and dad were already reading and I sat on the sofa. I mortified for a second and I revebrates in shock!

    "Happy 26th Anniversary!" I screamed.

My mum smiles. She never forget the date, ever. It will always be 11th of November each year. Indeed they got married in 1979, 10 years before I was born.

"Huh? Really? Today is it?" shocked my dad. He never really remembers. Each year I would make him guess what is 11th November for. Still it would be hard for him, to stuck it into his mind. Even this year, on Eid's morning, my mum had to remind him that it was my birthday. Nevertheless, I don't really mind but a little dissapointed that day but I never told anyone about this. Even only very few GREAT friends actually wishes me.

I left and head upstairs to my room, and continue reading Sophie Kinsella's Confessions of a Shopaholic. This might be weird for most people; seeing a boy reading a girly book but the truth is, it isn't a girly book at all. Maybe the cover is pink but it isn't. I'm proud reading these genre as I'm still a beginner in reading as I never finished up a book.

I continue my reading on Shopaholic and suddenly my mum screamed from downstairs. "A PHONE CALL FOR YOU!"

  "Coming!" I replied.

"I think its the student exchange programme people," says her.

Great. What now? Are they asking for the money deposit? My dad could only provide me the answer on Tuesday.

"Hello Azhan, this is Gee from AFS," says the lady on the phone.

  "Yes, hi there." I replied.

"I would just let you know the agreement letter would arrive soon. Every details are available together with the form." "I would like to know when exactly would you like to pay the deposit and how?"

And after few minutes talking. We ended our short consersation. I didn't manage to ask more regarding who my host family are and where I would be staying. I went upstairs later to get ready as I need to hurry to go to State Mosque for Friday Prayers.

After that, I arrived home around 2 something. I went straight up to kitchen area to greet my mum. And as I was approaching her, I saw a big envelope on the dining table. It's not an ordianary envelope. Its for me and I knew it's from AntaraBudaya-the student exchange organization. I sat at the meals area and my sister came and sit at the opposite side while my mum is still cooking. I've opened the letter and the moment I'm taking out the letter, my hands are starting to shake. And then, I started to burst into tears as when I see the date that I'm going to depart- 7th December 2005 - 4th Febuary 2006. That's it. My annual road trip is over. I can't go since the date planned was 6-9th December. And the only reason I actually cried was its on 7th! My sister's birthday is on the 8th! It's heartbreaking.

I've received a text message reply from Leonard, a friend of mine who have nothing in common with a night before. Earlier, I've bumped into confusion whether should I go out or not but I've decided that I really need to watch The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Great! Leo called and said he would want to hang out as well. Soon I found out myself with nothing much to do but to continue reading Confessions of a Shopaholic until 3 a.m. And soon I started to feel sleepy and straight I went to bed. I've waked up at 9 and went straight to my bathroom and take a shower before leave my house at 10.45 a.m. My mum drove me to the nearest bus stop and on the way, she told me that she couldn't sleep because she was thinking so much about the student exchange programme. I agreed. No doubt that there's much to think off. I'm not prepared at all. With money, safety, school etc.

As she dropped me, I waited together with some strangers heading to town. I promised Leo to meet him at Prangin Mall and we would take another bus to Gurney Plaza. I've waited almost 20 minutes for the next bus. I had to take mini bus as that's the only bus that commute to the town from the bus stop I'm currently at. Later come a bus and this stupid bus stopped not more than 10 meters away from the bus stop. Most at the time, these buses would wait until the whole vehicle is crammed with people like fishes in the sardine tin. But unfortunatly for the driver, there's not many people as usual. Foolishly, he still waited until about 30 minutes. The air conditioner aren't working, its currently hot and uncozy, note that every seat are completely fixed with tapes and ridiculously untidy. Suddenly an unknown man who sits behind he driver burst into madness and started to yell at the driver. With the way he's saying words by words in English, I assumed that he's from India.

"Quickly Move! You're just wasting my time! Ive been waiting for half an hour here!"

    Yet the driver who is just a typical person and can't even communicate in English, can only raise up his hand and giving signals such like asking the Indian man to leave. That Indian man attack him with words boldly and saying;

"What? What are you trying to say?" While everyone trying to access the situation and pretending nothing is hapening and ignoring the current situation, the bus driver continues his silly hand movement and making the Indian man pissed off. Now, both people are really pissed off. I had to ignore this irrelevent situation and continue to read my Shopaholic book I was holding with. He drove to the next stop. Finally, the driver had to give up as more and more passengers are getting in the bus. He can't continue this sillyness but he does look like a dumb person.

Come to think of it, mini buses drivers and all other public transportation drivers are just the same. They're are not those uniformed and near-looking kind of drivers. Instead, they look miserably like those illegal Indonesian immigrant but its not their fault that they look miserable. Now we blame the goverment for those corruption but still, those underpaid drivers are not goverment servant and they are employed to some private transportation company. But the goverment don't fund much on the public transportation systems. If only the would upgrade like those smart bus drivers in US, then we won't have much problems with more people commuting with public transportation. The ambience and condition of every public buses should be taken care off. Unfortunately no individual that are suppose to work on these are doing their duty. Forget it. Most tourist are disgussed with the horrible condition of public buses. And there are a lot of perverts that would molest and bug others such as women and girls. Enough complaint on these.

Back to the journey;

Suddenly there's a massive traffic-jam ahead. Great! Now my plan has ruined. Now that's its happening, I suprisingly feel calm mixed with anxious feeling towards the cause of this traffic jam. There are some policemen ahead doing road block specially for bus drivers. Perfect! This would waste my time even more.

Unit Pelancongan (Tourism Unit). I have no clue of whats going on. Maybe the police are arresting illegal immigrants? Or tourist with drugs? Or what? I thought they are about to arrest this blonde-caucasian lady in front. I don't know why but it does reminds me of the Australian caught in Bali. I turned t my left and out of my window I can see clearly whats going on. These police are making urine-test on heavy vehicle drivers and that would include this deluded-moron bus driver of mine and other vehcle such as lorries and cement lorries. I have no idea of whats going on actually but I could only think off these drivers are on drugs. Who really knows? After all there are many drug addict out there whether hiding or in open area.

Waited for another 20 minutes and I started to feel a little bored eventhough I'm being entertained by the scene of few drivers outside near mobile police van walking around confused and affraid. I'm very amused with the situation. The moron driver looks really affraid. Who knows what he has done. I've took my cellphone out of my pocket and there it was; 8 Missed Calls. I flick into text message inbox and Leo said he's already waiting. I've filled up my boredom by calling him.

"Hey Azhan, where are you? I'm already here." says Leo.

"I'm sorry but I don't think I would be able to arrive very soon. I'm stucked in this stupid road block and this stupid tourism unit are doing stuid urine test on this stupid bus driver," I replied. He paused and "Oh ok,Ii'll wait you at McD okay?

"Great! I'll see you then! And I'm really sorry okay!"

"It's okay." He says after a slight pause.

The blonde-caucasian lady turned behind and smiled at me after I've put down the phone. Gosh, I think I spoke too loud. Again!

Thank god, few minutes later, the moron driver came back and quickly drove away. I've arrived in Prangin Mall about 5 to noon time. "Wonderful, I've wasted Leo's 1 hour waiting for me!" I said to myself.

After rushing up to the 1st floor, I met him and sat next to him and we chatted for a while. I always noticed that we both have nothing much in common. He loves games and I don't. I love chocolate and he prefer vanilla flavor ice cream. We walked around for about half an hour although he said he needed to leave at 2. "I need to go at 2, to my mother-in law's house." he said earlier. God this is getting more boring than ever. Movies start at 1 for heaven's sake! I'm being dissapointed again by him. I noticed how he treasures his girlfriend and yet grumble to me once for not having any close friends in school. Anyway, I've sticked with him for a while and asked him to leave politely as in-"Hey, you go first and I'll stay. There's nothing for you to do and I can go get my hair cut and go Gurney by myself later okay?"

Well he agreed to leave. I guess he isn't so comfortable after all but I can't blame him. It's just me...but whatever. I went to my all-time favorite salon; eXtreme which I've eventually destroyed my hair but it's already went wavy and I felt its time go chop it off. Like usual I would have a little chat with my hairstylist(that's what they call themselves) and minutes passed by; *poooof* my hair is short and curly again after few months straightened it. I'm quite delighted and uttered a little astonishment although my invesement has ruined but I'm happy now because I feel much comfortable with short hair.

Later, I rushed to the bus available and again, the bus kepy me waiting for another 15 minutes! But at least I saved 14 bucks because a ride on a bus would cost only 1 bucks but a taxi would charge me 15 bucks and it doesn't worth it at all. I arrived at 1-Stop Shopping Center and now I need to run to cross the highly congested road that doesn't provide zebra crossing at all. After all, Gurney Plaza is such a luxurious place to be and what bus would eventually stop there anyway?

After crossing Burmah Road I've walk through unknown road and I'm not sure what the name is and later I've bumped into Kelawei Road and onwards, I'm there! I straightaway called Huey Fung so I could hang out with her for a while. She was atToys'R'Us with Nick, her boyfriend and I absoloutely feel quite bad for interrupting their date. Suprisingly, another friend of ours, Odie, is working over there. We hang out playing with the plushie toys etc and later moved our legs out of that store to hunt for food. We stopped at this new place called...I don't know but we had lasagna. All three of us had the same food; and 3 bucks for a coke? way way expensive while anyone could get half the price at Cold Storage or Seven-Eleven.

I hang out with them for a while and decided to leave because I don't want to be a lamp-post to them. After all, these sweet couple need their privacy and I don't wish to be the one invading it. I told them I would be heading to MPH bookstore because I needed an alibi but I did went to MPH to find out about the weekend sale. With spurt of adrenalin, I wrenced upwards when I found out many interesting books are availabe and ON SALE! 15-25% discount for members! I moved my feet and hunt for stuff I don't even know what. Let's start with books, followed by sunglasses, thin clothes from British India, and then I stopped at a contact lens stall which offers free starter pack. The salesgirl remembers me once when se had a promotion booth in Prangin Mall. Such a coincidence!

Then I go trying to stick some plastic onto my cornea. I had to try couple of times because my eye balls were shaking. After all, I never really tried it on. There, my eyes were feeling ichy as there's some strange items stucked onto my cornea. I moved on and told her I would be back to buy the whole set on Sunday. I moved on and continue my nothing-to-do "hunt" and try to search for something to buy. However, I don't feel like spending much money like the other day. Maybe not in the mood I guess. I went home by bus later and nothing else to say here because nothing adventurous happens later. I arrived and took off the contact lens and back with ordinary day after 7p.m. Bath-pray-lounge-TV-book-sleep. Well no access to the computer because the graphic card spoiled and had to send for service. I had to spend my emptiness watching TV and later..sleep.

I've decided to do my university and college search today and continue what I've been searching yesterday. My mind has changed again and again. Before, I was so crazy to go study in USA and especially in New York but now I've changed my mind for the 4th time. First choice was USA followed by UK and Australia. After the education fair held in my school in June, without any patient I straightaway planned to study in Australia for the foundation programme offered and suprisingly its the same college Zanne goes to. Zanne and I are close friends and we are the unidentical pair of twin among all of us.

But after days and months passes by, I still haven't really made up my mind on where to go without even bothering my grades in school going down and approaching lower than the minimum requirement allowed. My decision on Australia always changes all the time due to the political inferno and silly goverment proposition and constituition. No offence but sometimes I get irritated by Jeff Corwin aussie accent because it doesn't sound polite at all and he always do the stupid things around the world and get paid for it. Come on people; talk about the snakes and crocodile he love to be around with and attemped to swing his newborn baby to a crocodile once.

Still, today I went around EducationUK to search for more uiversities that offers foundation programme. I have no idea why I'm going for this programme but however in contrast with other college, I would peripharelly not go for any A-level based course since I already screwed up my form 4 studies and would be doomed for my SPM (O-Level) science subjects. On one hand, I've decided to take Business course despite I have great interest in Environment and Designing. My interest doesn't really stay long enough with me except Business. I change my mind too frequently and therefore, I will never know what my future career will be. Although I would never know what's up with my future, I understand perfectly that I need a base. So, I've decided to take Business course, in order to make my family and myself happy but after years of working I might change my mind and continue to study something else. Imagine I can do many things and start businesses everywhere and build a company of my own. Who knows one day there will be advertising, travel, cleaning, trading, investment etc agencies and firm of my own.

Now I will just have to wait for any education fair that would be held anywhere here and do other things. Besides, my O-Level is just around 370 days to go and who knows what will happen around the time period.

But what exactly has been confirmed likewise the title said? Today was suppose to be another ordinary day, no harsh, no scratches, no crumble. Suddenly, telephone rings and my mum picked it up. My mum called and it was for me. I walked upstairs as usual but when I started saying "hi", sudden rush of fear burst into my body when I hear the voice of an annoymous lady. Her voice was familiar and there she is; Gee from the Student Exchange Organisation called. It's the first time since September! I thought she would never give a call and this time it turned out to be some good news.

And she continues, she said a letter has been sent to me arriving in next few days. In the letter, it is solely an agreement for me to sign and with outward veneer of calm she said I was confirmed a placement for my student exchange application. I was not ready for this at all and I've been having many personal and mixed feelings about this whole thing. Originally I applied for Italy but later it was changed to Egypt due to some complex terms and condition as in food and animal restrictions. I have no idea and still not sure whether I should really go or not because it takes up to 2 whole month begining December 05 until Febuary 06. I still haven't move out from my house and I'm so not ready! My grades are going down and I need to study during this holidays and I have tonnes of things to do. I have fear of terrorist in the Middle East and not sure I would be alive and only God knows that the best. Until now I'm still confused of everything......

Oh happy day! And yes it is! My relatives which are the two families from KL and Seremban are off to go! No, I'm not that evil and I'm not happy about that. What I'm really looking foward to is to visit Nadiah's house! uhhuh...the peach bungalow with the curved balcony next to a drive-thru McD and facing my school south gate.

Despite being quite sad when m relatives are off set to leave since I didn't spend much with with them.

Well her house is very extravagant! Everything looks exclusively marvelous and the interior looks like some Russian Imperial style with many spaces and big furnitures. Well I'm just exagerating but truthly, her house looks really nice and neat unlike my very own so-called messy home. I arrived half an hour later but thank god I wasn't the last. Jeanni was!! =P

We hang out over there. Me, Jeanni, Nadiah, Maalini, Avinaash, Nuril and another two people I'm not familiar with, Kutti and Shahir. I'm still full with yesterday's food. I went out with Atiqah's family and oh god; I have no idea where my empty tummy went! Filled up with food! Bloated and can't move!!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-09T09:51:34Z</dcterms:modified>

Visiting friends

Today wouldn't be as boring as yesterday. I got plans! While everyone are waiting for those relatives to arrive, I'm all set to bounce around to my friends house for an open house. We shall start with Ilmam which I will be going around 1 something with Christina. Well that if only she wakes up from bed (thats what the mum said when I called her house). I can't text message her since she is still snoring but well its Sunday. Didn't she goes to chuch this morning?

Later I will be going to Atiqah and Fatin's house and of course it's just an ordinary open house I guess? Make it this way. I purposely go and visit them for no specific reason since we rarely hang out together as Fatin always busy with her school band and atiqah is now in a boarding school in another state. Since it's raya of course I'm hoping to get those must-have green packets. I hope I would actually get some since some people doesn't give to teenagers. I'm not old yet! Just because I turned sixteen on Eid day doesn't mean I'm old! Oh well...can't wait to go out now!

Well I'm back!! I spent quite a while at Ilmam's house with Christina and we were seriouly like strangers pop-ed out of nowhere and there everyone were; which are those people I never really talked with. I used to hang out with thse people after school 2 years ago but since most of them are arrogant and ignorant pile of humans, I've decided to hang out somewhere people are much more friendlier. Again, me and Christina were wandering around the room and later went back to the dining area to have a little chat and whatever. I had to leave earlier so Christina had to follow me since she was the oonly girl there. He didn't invite any other girls! stangely he's quite the guy among roses.

When I got home, my relatives finally arrived! Amen for that since my mum and my whole family have been waiting for them. I help my mum fry an egg and later I'm off set to go when my dad said he's sending me to Atiqah's house. I told her earlier I would be another half an hour late again since I've told her earlier I would be late to her house. I arrived 5 before 3.30pm. Then, the father whom I never met was lying down watching tv with her brother, Ben and her cousin whom I don't really know. Strangely I have this weird feeling about her dad since I never met him. A feeling like he's opposing me or whatever running through my mind. But I've ignored the strange feeling and just be cool with everything. We are off set to go when Eija and Emira arrived. They wore the Baju Kurung !!(traditional clothes) suprisingly. I was really shocked since I would never assume they both would wear something like this. But anyway off set we go together with Atiqah's parents to Fatin's house.

After a while, we arrived and Tajul and Kiey were already there with Narvin and his another friend. I never knew that Fatin would know Naarvin but I just remembered that they all are band members.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-07T04:22:41Z</dcterms:modified>

Another Ordinary Day

It's the third day of Eid and everything seems normal. Few relatives from other states was suppose to come but delayed for some reason..It seems to me that everything are back to normal and somehow I'm not hungry like when I was fasting. I guess I wouldn't put on weight at the moment and I don't think its another starvation regime I always get hooked up with. This time is because I don't feel hungry at all and I can't help it. I really loose my appetite again but when it comes to great food, I can't help it! Haha! And so.. (I can't believe myself using this word so much! Its becomine cliche') And so...I just stayed home watching Travel Channel and doing nothing. Gosh such a boring day! I;ll have to wait until the fun arrives tomorrow.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-05T13:13:32Z</dcterms:modified>

One Tiring Day

Eid are celebrated in the whole month of Syawal unlike the Chinese New Year that are celebrated just for 15 days. I believe its slightly different but as for my Eid yesterday, I had some great time. After waking up around 9am which I overslept and didn't go for Eid prayers, I began to wash up and help around the house waiting for guest to arrive. I feel quite sleepy because afterall I slept at 4am in the morning. Later, around 2pm, Mei Hsien, Elora, Annie and Yu Jean arrived. We ate and later play Uno and Jenga. They stayed over until 5.30pm. Record-breaking thing as usually people come and goes away but this time we play game and do stupid stuff such as play truth and dare but this time its all about dare! They made me drink nasty thingy..update later..

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-04T09:59:24Z</dcterms:modified>

Happy Eid And Happ Birthday To Me

Well today is the most wonderful day on earth to Muslims as it's Eid, the beginning of the month of Syawal and the ending of holly Ramadhan. And my birthday fall on the same day as well. I guess this is my ultimate super sweet sixteen birthday. Of course there are no such things like party like MTV MY Super Sweet Sixteen because my parent's would never waste 10K dollar just to spend for a birthday party. A small get-together is just perfectly fine as well it goes with my Eid open house. Update later..

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-03T04:28:29Z</dcterms:modified>

Eid's Eve

And so, tomorrow is Eid ul-Fitr, the beginning of Syawal and the end of the holly month of Ramadhan. Somehow my mum didn't bake much cookie as I expected. And the ordinar becomes odd. No more Eid blues like every year. She said she's busy and tired but I insist. I told her I'd help around although I'm a lazy bum myself. So today I made rolled pineapple jam cookie (not sure the name) and carnation flower cookie and they were success for a first timer! Woohooo!! cheers for me! lol...and everything seems busy. And I hate to go send Eid messages around so I don't have much to talk about here...later days.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-02T15:14:22Z</dcterms:modified>

Eid preparation

Eid ul-Fitr is just around the corner...wait its on Thursday!! And my whole famile aren't prepared yet! Now I'm still cleaning my room while mum baking cookie and sis watching TV and dad washing the car..haha!

And so...here I am again writting this entry after succesfully done with my room. It does looks like a ship that has just sank in deep ocean though. I haven't cleaned up my room in ages. It's very dusty and contaminated with unknown junks and rubbish such as receipt and school work.

Dad didn't wash the car and he was just sleeping and sis helped around in the kitchen; baking and messing around giving litle headache to mum. As I was cleaning my room, I looked through some universities and colleges prospectus I've collected during the education fair. I still having problem in choosing the right course and the right place. My top choice will always be East coast USA but I only have Australian prospectus and info. Totally lack of info of American colleges. I got 1 UK and I was thinking of following my best friend Aliyah after we finishes SPM (somewhat O Level for other places) but she could go and get everything for free since she has the British citizenship and I'm...urrgh..Malaysian. So far I'm planning to go for foundation course and not A-Level. She would as she's gonna take law. In contrast, I still haven't made up my mind of what to take in future, what I desire and what I really like. I don't want to be stucked up in wrong course. Currently, what's on my mind are accountancy, advertising, urban planning, business admin, economics, finance&banking, international business and marketing. Besides that, I have interest in environmental science/earth science but since my bio and chemistry result aren't that good, I need something else. I got an advice from a teacher saying I should go for it since those professional course are over-populated. But I guess I should go on do some detail research on these before it's too late.

Meanwhile, I did help my mum baking some cookie but it isn't actually baking..It's just mashing all the cornflakes in chocolate substance and put it into many small cups. I'll get the recipe posted here later. I ate another cookie and I thought it's already baked. My sis came and told me it wasn't yet. Great! I've ate raw cookie but it does taste a little cruncy. Boy, the mocha smell and chocolate chips melting in my mouth did hit the spot. I can't resist the yummy-ness of this new cookie my mum baked...well not yet of course.

Anyway, back to my room, I never really realises how horrible the dust are. They're really thick and gosh it looks nasty. Thank god I haven't sleep in my room for a very long long time. I sleep in the study room which is air-conditioned and every morning when I wake up, I froze! and seriously it's really chillin'. After hours of cleaning and moping, my room actually looks neater and better. Wow! I love when this happens but wait until the mess comes back and my mum will start the ordinary nag.

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-11-01T18:17:55Z</dcterms:modified>

Last Day of school

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-29T17:20:57Z</dcterms:modified>

Shop till you drop..REALLY DROPPED!!

Have you ever experienced shopping until you reach the limits? Maybe? or maybe not? How about spending big sum of cash? Well I did! I've spent a big sum of cash, and it’s yet to be abnormal for a guy like me to spend so much…on clothes!! Weird isn’t it? That Thursday was very a good day to start off everything since my sis isn’t home so I had the time to use the comp for a while. It was an ordinary day, no different from any others. I've waked up for breakfast at 5am and slept again until 9.30am. Watched Oprah and came online, tried to update blog to write something but failed, chat with some friends, mum came and nag because I haven’t done any chores yet and so on. I was supposed to go with public bus and my mum was supposed to send me at the bus station. I've got ready at 1pm and had to wait for my mum until 2pm. She was like wasting the time here and there. Soon my dad came and I've asked him to drop me straight to Gurney Plaza. And so later I've arrived and went straight to Padini concept store to search for Denise and Stephanie.

Meanwhile, they were in the fitting room so I had to wait and later we went out walk around looking for nothing. We went to Esprit, Guess and god knows what other shops we went in. We stand in the middle of center court thinking of where to go next and talk about some bohemian-gipsy-hippy style best from a local designer, Melinda Looi that Denise saw and bla bla bla…and I wanted to buy at last something from threepointsix so I've suggested for us to go there. I've tried searching for many clothes but all the price range was RM89-RM399…not under my budget but I saw some really cute and nice design on display with 50% discount!! I've bought 3 pairs without any regret!! Haha!! [Kaching!!- total=RM113.50] The girls and me later went to Toys’R’Us because they had find something for the Halloween Night. Unfortunately, local store doesn’t sell the adult and youth size costumes and we just hang around there and do stupid stuff such as taking photo while wearing some ugly mask.

Denise and Stephanie had to leave at 5. Later, I was left alone but I quickly run to Padini to search for my favorite white hooded sweaters that are almost sold out. Those were from the summer collection and now it’s already fall season. I stupidly wasted my money earlier of the year and didn’t get the chance to buy one and now is my only chance. After trying out some clothes and pants, I came out with 3 pair of shirts and it cost less than RM100!! All three with 50% discount!! Boy I really went for great deals! And total spent in Padini was RM98.50!! Later, I went searching for some good stuff in British India, Guess, Timberland, Giordano, and U2. All these shop are in the same row at ground floor. Unfortunately, there is noting much to choose as I look for design first.

On with next buy, I went in Parkson and found Samuel & Kevin!!! Huey Fung always wear these!! And there are many gorgeous designs but I went to find some pants. I already got 6 shirts but no pants yet! I like the style and olive color but there are no matching sizes. I was surprised with the pants size that I was wearing on that day is much bigger then the ones I've tried on. Imagine I was wearing size 32 and I could actually wear size 28 and yet size 28 still feels big! I never realized how much weight I actually loose after I was discharge from hospital for dengue fever in July. All my pants are seriously big and I never realize my waist is actually 27 1/2 and not 31 like what I've always thought it has been. Bought a shirt and a long pants for RM118.70 with 30% discount for both items.

Soon I had to rush since it's already almost 7 which is the break fast time. This would be my first time ever break fast alone outside in my life. I wasn’t thrilled because I had to find some good, Halal, cheap food just for myself. After few minutes searching I have no option other than Sushi King. I thought 3 sushi plates would cost around 10 bucks but at the end of the day everything cost around RM27.30. I ordered wrongly!! Silly me! I thought it's gonna be small prawns and it turned out to be Ebi something which is the bigger prawns. Owh well…what an experience to be…45 minutes later I became bloated and I had to leave the bar.

Of course, I've continued my shopping and went to Factory Outlet Store to find some bargain items. There were many shirts but none of them look as great like what I've bought and so, I simply pick up some and suddenly, I found a Banana Republic!! And on that very morning, I've watched Oprah about Banana Republic stuff and I straight away purchased the shirt! And it only cost RM 29.90!! Well although it seems to be some kind of rejected shirt brought here but heck! It's Banana Republic!!

I soon desperately needed a place to sit and later, I went into MPH bookstore just to sit but before, I grabbed Desperate Housewives and some Vogue book and sat there until it's almost 9 and gosh, I was frozen!! Earlier that day, it was humid even inside the whole big mall and suddenly it was chillin’ and I was shivering while hanging out in the members lounge area. Next, I went to World of Cartoon- I know this is weird but I like the American Athletes shirt available over there and I bought it! For RM19.90!! and with 50% discount!! Seriously I can't help myself from shop, shop, and shop!! There were too many great deals available!! I spent extra RM12.90 for a tea tree oil doap bar from The Body Shop and bought a Chocolate Ice Blended Cream [yummy!!]. Soon I went home around 10 something and my parents and my sis, SHOCKED with what I've actually bought...but come on...for a boy like me, to shop for Raya clothes, must it be such a big deal?? But of course I guess..at the end of the day no one could say anything because I've already done it!! I've bought 9 pairs of shirt and 1 cargoes without any regret since all comes with great deal!!

Total cash brought = RM410.smth smth

Total spent = RM 400

Currently = "I'm broke, so sue me for spending so much and I'm going to start writting a book- Confession of a Teenage Shopaholic Boy"

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-31T15:47:41Z</dcterms:modified>

Shopping!!

Another day for me to skip school! Hooray! I used to feel very guilty to skip school but then, I started to realise even if I go everyday, I'd get nothing especially on these days. Another 2 days and year 2005 session will end. I haven’t bought any new clothes for my Raya (Eid ul-Fitr). I know it’s weird to buy new clothes on festive season but heck! People do buy new clothes for Christmas, right? Anyway I was supposed to go with some friends but then they suddenly got some stuff to do. So, I've SMS couple of other friends asking whether they would come along to follow me to shop for new clothes. And now I've got a reply from Denise but she is currently in school. I guess I have to wait for her to get her mum’s permission. I really hope she could make it since she’s the best in shopping! Believe me she does look gorgeous with her really nice hair and oh yeah! The Paris Hilton Guess bag! She got it with Paris's face printing on it! Lol! Meanwhile, I’d be waiting and write this and I shall continue again later…

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-27T03:51:42Z</dcterms:modified>

Hectic, busy day...at school?

It’s almost a week since I've last went to school. And so I have been all home ever since playing The Sims 2 and doing nothing. Well I come online almost everyday searching for many things. Strangely I wonder who actually went to school after the exam ended. I know I did couple of times but who had the full attendance? I know those few such as Beng San and Reuben Lai would go but I don’t think they would go everyday, would they? Maybe they would skip once in a while like what others are doing it. Both class next doors have absolute low attendance of students with the average of less than 20 out of 40. Imagine half of the class population disappear just like that. Most teachers don’t teach after the exam. Maybe there are but who actually listen? And who actually listen when any teacher teach in front?

Many tend to pretend that they’re listening but most are actually daydreaming behind. School systems here are lack of FUN. That’s the main reason why students lately having serious issue to learn. Like myself, I don’t think I've learned anything much through this year. Maybe I did but it doesn’t stick into my brain. I failed many subjects like for example, all those 3 Science subjects, Biology, Physic and Chemistry. I don’t seem to understand anything until now. The education systems currently are exam orientated. Thus, many tend to struggle to get those A’s to make their parents satisfaction and to be proud of. The student’s interests have been overcome by the exam worries. Those Art students, literature and design are forgotten even though those two subjects are as much important as the Science subjects. I seriously have interest in those two subjects but unfortunately for my school, the so-called oldest English school in South-east Asia don’t have good Art classes. There were two and now both already have been combined into one. Unfortunately, the Art class were filled with “unwanted students”

And now I have to leave for school. Woke up at 5 for breakfast and since it’s the fasting month, I eat in the morning. Usually when its not fasting month, I would always skip my breakfast and go straight to school. My bus comes at 6.15am and yet I arrive in school around 7.15am although the journey takes only 20 minutes. However, the bus has to fetch other kids everywhere and the driver is the “fastest” one available. Reason why he comes so early yet arrived in school late is just because “other people haven’t wake up from bed yet”.

So I've arrived and walk straight to my class. As usual there are the ordinary people who wouldn’t escape school for no reason like me =P

Unfortunately on this very morning, there’s an assembly despite last Monday was said to be the very last. The reason given by the Students Affair Teacher was to upgrade the school so-called discipline and to ensure students would come to school as usual even though it’s already almost the end of schooling days. 3 more days and it is gonna be the Year End holiday; which would be about 2 months!! This is a dream come true for most students!! Of course, to myself as well 0=)

At present, the school launched a new rule for students to start wearing a sewed in badges unlike before where everyone wears the traditional metal badge. This unfortunately happens because some impudent ignorant fool tend to skip school and goes to arcade, snooker and pool center, cyber café to waste their bloody time playing games and escaping school. When they got caught by the local officer, they tend to lie about which school they’re from and make things goes worse. Even so, as for others, not many students willing to show off their school badges due to danger ahead outside. Many faces gangster and bully group who are anti- to my school. Well this regularly happens but nevertheless, it’s something that been bugging many unfortunate and weak students whom do not know any martial art skills hat could eventually protect them from these nonsense dangers.

The new proposal that have been rumoured around is hair. Yes! Hair!! Starting next year, all students must shave their head bald because there are certain students that love to keep their hair long and trying to be stylish and trendy while in school. Oh yeah! Me too! I've spent a lot on my hair! And now it will soon perish under the “clean” razor of the discipline room. We all would look like those Chinese school boys whom are bald and looks like monks. As for my school? I believe everyone would look like those local drug rehab people whom are bald and often looks weird because they look…weird!

Later on we went back to class after boring speech by those lame teachers. I've spent my day completing my entire experiment paperwork that I was supposed to pass up since long time ago. I can’t help myself that I'm good in doing last minute works. I believe that’s all I should write at the moment and continue again after this…and I have so much more to say and to complaint!

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-26T12:25:50Z</dcterms:modified>

An Evening Out to the Mall

8.45pm-10.15pm

Oct 25th, 2005

I’ve just went out with my mum and my sis to the mall few hours ago. We haven’t been to Sunshine Square for ages! And so I was like “Oh my, this place really changed! It’s becoming so-called Parkson! Weird but at least it was much better than some other weird malls. We hit the mall just for 1 reason; to shop some new clothes for my sis. It’s an unusual tradition for some local especially the Malays to shop during the festive seasons. Hari Raya (Eid ul-Fitr) is just around the corner while Deepavali will hold next Tuesday.

And so there were many people. Many people hunting for new clothes for their children, their husbands, their wives and their spouses. Of course there are the Mak Ciks’ (aunties, elder women such as mothers and maybe grandmothers) searching for clothes and fitting it to the little kids. My mum hasn’t been doing it to me anymore. Thank god for that! Otherwise it would be embarrassing to me! Not to suggest it to anyone else but to myself of course.

And later on, my mum and my sis went to Diadorra site. There were the book department just behind there and so I went to look at it. What else can I do? Wait for my sis to choose? Oh no! Well she isn’t the girlish kind of girl but she’s athletic and of course it’s quite hard to get clothes that fit her interest. But later on when I turned back they both went missing. I panicked! There were so many people! It’s been so long since I got lost while shopping with my mum. And I went around looking and searching. Meanwhile, as I was walking around, there were several odd events happening in front my very blind eyes. Few guys were stretching new underwear out from their boxes in front of public which happens to be mostly ladies. I don’t necessarily think it was odd but truly weird. Isn’t there any other proper place to look for undergarments? Silly but weird..

Oh whatever! Also there were weird kind of people, such as guys who tried to look cool and girls who think they’re the cool-popular girls. Not to be mean but they dress themselves in strange way and abnormal! It’s been a while since I've been to places filled with these kinds of people but well, most weird people are the Indonesian factory workers. Believe me, the ladies put on very heavy make-ups! Imagine bright red with thick foundation! Serious fashion victims!! Hahaha!! I don’t mean to humiliate anyone but that’s the truth! We came back about an hour later and bought the all-time-local-favorite-junkie Ramli Burger (read article, info) by the roadside. Later, when I came home, I've hurt myself eating clumsily and hurt my tongue and lower part of my inner lip (seriously I have no idea what it’s called). And so, here I am writing this lame thingy! Haha!

By the way, didn't I mentioned about my state, Penang, on the island side itself are over-populated with many shopping malls? Seriously there are Gurney Plaza; the place for elite as most well-known brands and there are Midlands Park One Stop, Island Plaza, Prangin Mall, BJ Complex, Giant, Tesco, Sunshine Square, Mayang Mall, Makro, Gembira Parade and owh god i don't know what else..the population on the island side are about 1M but the shopping complex and malls seems to provide even more places to shop but its already over the quota..heck i have no idea what the hell im trying to say now! lol

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2005-10-26T12:14:40Z</dcterms:modified>
